As an event manager I've designed signage, developed and tracked budgets, led volunteer planning committees and scouted and booked event spaces. I've also had the pleasure of securing and working with special guests and major event sponsors. Working in the nonprofit industry has given me a range of experiences I wouldn't trade for the world. Below are examples of my favorite events.
Niles 5K Run/Walk
"You're a pro, Kelsey. It was great working with you."
- Cynthia Newsome, KSHB 41 Action News
"Heya Kelsey! Just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for putting on such a wonderful event! We all had an excellent time... Our doctors both have their medals hanging in their treatment rooms and are talking with patients not only about the run, but about Niles Home and the wonderful work you all do. Keep up the excellent work!"
- Angie Zahner, Chiropractic Life Center
Greater Kansas City Public Relations Society of America
I designed sponsorship banners (two outside banners in photo above) for
GKC-PRSA to use at the 2016 PRISM Awards event and professional development events throughout the year.

Budgeting
The 2nd Annual Niles 5K Run/Walk, resulted in a net profit increase of $10,000 from 2014 to 2015. I cut spending in some areas and reallocated funds toward those of more importance, designed my own signage (and had signage donated) in Photoshop and InDesign, secured more sponsorships and secured donations for swag and other treats.
